Planning to go to Bali next year. I’m planning to stay in a hotel in Legian but at the same time I’d want to check out Kuta. So how long does it takes to travel to Legian to Kuta and what kinda transport do I take?

A friend and I are planning to travel to Australia, New Zealand and one other country for three weeks. The other country would be Bali, Thailand, Fiji or Tahiti. We will be there from mid-December to mid-January. We are there as a graduation gift to ourselves and would be there on a budget. We are wanting to do some surfing, scuba diving, snorkling, hiking and of course sightseeing. We would like to know what are the best places to do these things. We would like to stay away from tourist traps. We are also wanting to know what airports and cities would be best to fly in and out of. Any information or advice would be greatly appreciated.

I’m thinking of planning a trip to Indonesia later in the year. Been to Bali and Lombok but would like to see something very different.

I am planning on travelling around the world next year (UK -> USA -> Cook Islands -> New Zealand -> Australia -> Bali -> Athens).
I have looked into RTW tickets, and buying flights individually as you go around, as it gives you more flexibility, and you don’t have to pay for it all up front.
I have heard that it can also be cheaper that way if you get last minute flights etc. but does anyone have any experience of it, and whether it costs less/more (and how much more)? Can you even get cheap last minute flight offers from Australia to Bali etc?
